This is a Black Diamond Pearl "Revere" Snare Drum that I recently bought on Ebay. The seller wanted a whopping $120 for it but I strategically negotiated him down to a measly $75. It seems antique dealers are willing to be more reasonable when the economy tanks.
Here is the drum now that I have restored it:
Pretty nice job, eh? Looks really good. It actually sounds good, too. So here's the "experimental" part of this project: this drum is now For Sale. Yes, believe it or not, if you like the look of this freshly-restored snare drum you can go to Ebay and purchase it right now, no questions asked. I am curious as to whether any of my restorations would actually sell in the real market, so this drum I am regretfully sacrificing to fulfill my morbid curiosity.....as painful as that is.....
Of course, at $135 plus $20 shipping it will probably not sell.....I hope.....or not. I don't know! I hate selling stuff because I always regret it later. I feel like I'm auctioning off one of my kids! But there you have it.....if you want it. Also please feel free to contact me if there is anything else on this blog you are interested in. In these desperate times, I just might resort to child sacrifice.....
