THIS WEEK'S SMART-ARSE EBAY SHOPPER AWARDS

Sometimes while shopping on Ebay I can get a little frustrated trying to track down that next vintage drum deal, which sometimes results in snarky, humorous posts on my Facebook page.  The following was a post and subsequent comments I vented recently:

The award for the Most Unreasonable, Outrageous and Overpriced Item of the Week goes to "arridude" of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, for this 1970's "vintage," Made-in-Japan, Piece-'o-Crap, 5x14" Blue-Marble Stewart Snare Drum currently available for the "Buy It Now" price of $275.00 plus $55.00 shipping. According to "arri(gant)dude" the drum is in "very good condition" and "the chrome on rims is good."

Yeah, well, this drum is still only truly worth about fifty bucks. Seventy-five if you knew how to clean it up really thoroughly. Greedy scammers like you tick me off.

SECOND PLACE goes to "pinkkchic1010" who is asking a pheNOMenal $1,099.00 for this Ludwig Vistalite Pattern F, the most I have ever seen anybody ask for a Vistalite snare drum (and this person has two up for sale). Just because the drum is super-cool, unique and somewhat rare does not mean you have to get oil-company GREEDY and attempt to FLEECE your fellow enthusiasts and collectors! Six hundred would have been steep, but a THOUSAND?! You, "pinkchic," are a dick.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD goes to "504pickle" who has been trying to selfishly scam somebody for $3,000.00 for this Ludwig Vistalite kit in black-and-clear spiral. Fortunately no one has taken the bait for the last three years this ad has been up on Ebay, leaving Mr. "504pickle" in quite his own little.....conundrum.
