SIXTEEN BLACK VISTALITE.....FINALLY

Here I can now announce that after nearly a year of searching I finally found a sixteen inch Ludwig Black Vistalite floor tom.  The drum was in decent condition for its age but quite dirty.  It was also missing the bottom rim, head and tension rods.

Once I had won the Ebay auction and the drum was in my possession, I discovered the internal muffler assembly was broken off.  Fortunately this is a piece of hardware that is not too difficult to find and replace.

This photo shows the drum after I have finished restoring it.  It now has new heads, a new bottom rim with tension rods, a new muffler and new rubber feet on the legs.  This was a pretty straight-forward project with no unpleasant surprises or unexpected difficulties with which to deal.  I knocked it out in one afternoon.

Now it is time to see how well this floor tom will work with the rest of my Black Vistalite drums.  But that is a post for another day.
