NEW SNARE - DON'T CARE...

This is a very beautiful turquoise-marine-pearl snare drum made in Japan under the brand name "Tempro."  This is interesting because I have another unusually-colored snare drum with a strikingly-similar logo "Tempo."  I even went back and made sure I hadn't been mistaken before.  Sure enough this yellowish-sparkle snare had no "R" in its name.

So this new snare drum is definitely a "Tem-PRO" and not a "Tem-PO."  Whatever the case, they both were probably made in the same production plant in Japan and just given different labels.  That's how things were done back when MIJs were being cranked out in the 60s and 70s.

Except for the slight yellowing around the throw assembly and the distinct odor of cigarette smoke imparted by its previous owner, this drum is in excellent condition and will require minimal work.  I wish I could find an entire kit in this color.  It is really pretty.

Unfortunately my arthritis is freaking killing me and I don't feel like polishing or even playing any drums.  So this project will have to wait.....
