BLUE MARINE PEARL TEMPRO SNARE
This is a 5-1/2 x 14" Japanese-made snare drum bearing the "Tempro" logo. I believe the color may be described as "Blue Marine Pearl" but it looks more like an indigo shade to me. The drum was in excellent overall shape but still could use a thorough cleaning. Therefore I went through my usual process of completely disassembling the drum to polish every nook and cranny.
The result was not a shocking improvement, but my efforts did bring this vintage drum back to its original shine and splendor. The slight yellowing of the wrap is less noticeable and the chrome really pops.
I did not need to replace any parts other than the heads, as even the tension rods were well-preserved and free from rust and pitting.
Here, right around the throw assembly, is where the minor darkening of the wrap occurs. The throw and the muffler assembly (that knob on the right) were both in perfect working order.
I'd say this was another restoration project well executed! On to the next one!
