WAITING FOR THE SHELL TO ARRIVE

In order to complete my Vistalite Jellybean Project to perfection, I knew what I needed was a clear-green 5-1/2 x 14" acrylic snare drum.  Nothing else would satisfy me.  But because the snare drum is arguably the most essential component of a drum set, and because Ludwig Vistalites are among the most expensive vintage drums on the market, I had to find a way to get around paying a fortune to obtain exactly what I wanted.

And so I decided.....to "cheat."

Given the rarity of green Vistalites in general, happening upon an auction for a snare drum of this color, having enough capital to afford one and actually placing the winning bid was all too risky in my opinion.  And I was too impatient to wait around for all these factors to come together in my favor.

That's when I discovered RCI Starlite International.  This is an American company that manufactures high-quality acrylic drum shells in a wide variety of styles and colors, including the classic Vistalite hues.  In this way I was able to special order a green "Vistalite replacement shell" in the size I wanted, pre-drilled for standard Ludwig parts.  Now all I needed was the chrome hardware to complete my snare.

Here I have assembled everything I need minus the shell, for which I am impatiently waiting this very moment.  Oh, the agony.  It is almost too much to bear.  As you can see, I employed my masterful proficiency at Ebay shopping to round up all the necessary components, including a blue/olive Ludwig badge to conceal my nefarious fraudulence.  The badge has not actually arrived yet, but since that will be a final touch designed to deceive the public, I have a little time to spare.

MWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!

Isn't Percussion Restoration delightfully evil yet satisfying?
