As a major bellhead, I collect all sorts of ringy-dingy noisemakers, not just percussion instruments. I recently bought this little wall-mounted brass bell just because I thought it looked neat-o and I didn't have one. And because it was cheap. And it was a bell, which I like.
So I bought it and cleaned it up and fashioned a small wooden plaque to mount it on. It actually took less time to do all that than it did for me to write this stupid post, but I have to put some words up here to make this blog look legitimate even though no one but me reads it.
Here is what my little bell looks like now. Admittedly it looks remarkably the same except it's a little cleaner and it has been mounted on a blue piece of wood and hung on the wall.
Obviously this is not one of my more dramatic and complicated restoration projects, which is what made writing this particular post difficult. There is really nothing profound to say about a common, rather plain-looking brass bell hanging on the wall.
But I like it.
Hey, at least I don't post this crap on Facebook!

You have at least one reader. :-D
I'm enjoying the posts.... Thanks!
Oh, well! Thanks for your interest, Scott! I'm glad you enjoy the silly and sometimes sarcastic little posts I put up here. Please don't ever take them too seriously! Really all I'm doing is documenting my percussion collection and restoration projects to entertain myself, but every once in a while I deviate into a semi-interesting subject. You never can tell.
