EARLIER "FORTRESS" PHOTO

Here is a picture of my setup at an earlier stage when I was playing for SPECTRE (before we changed the name to THE STAND). I had not yet finalized my cowbell setup, so instead of the Gon Bops Triple Agogo I had a couple of cheap Cosmic Percussion bells mounted on a horizontal bar. Later I would study Neil Peart's setup more closely and figure out how to stack the appropriate bells vertically on a thin Ludwig stand with the 8" Splash above. This saved room and allowed me to shift my ride cymbal slightly forward to a more comfortable location.

I also had not yet discovered the practical and space-saving technique of employing Ludwig hoop-mount cymbal holders, so my two front cymbals are still on bulky Tama booms that were much more difficult to set up and position. This was another Peart idea that I borrowed and used quite effectively.

The trusty Chinese Bell Tree is there, along with the LP Ice Bell before I moved it to my other side near the cowbell section. This was a minor adjustment that I made after I found the small set of custom hollow bar windchimes that can be seen in the picture accompanying the previous post.
