OYSTER PEARL SNARE FOUND

I recently acquired this Oyster Pearl Majestic Snare to match my 13" Tom with the same wrap (featured HERE):
As evidenced in the above photos, it was in rough shape.  In the third photo I noticed the entire Strainer Assembly was missing.  This presented a definite challenge but not an endeavor that was completely hopeless.  I have many spare parts in my arsenal and I know how to use them.  This enabled me to negotiate the price down from $50 to $30 by pointing this out to the seller, whose brilliant description of this item consisted of a single word: "Used."  Yeah.....ya think?!

So after I performed my magic on this genuine antique here is how it turned out:
As Captain Jack Sparrow would say: "Much more better!"  The Throw Mechanism is the proper replacement for what was there originally and everything else was thoroughly cleaned and re-installed.  The only set-back and minor disappointment was my inability to find a pinch plate for the tightening apparatus on the butt end.  Although I have many in my spare parts stash, I couldn't find one with the precise hole spacings I needed.  Therefore I was doomed to use snare string to tie the wires instead - an inferior solution but still operational.

Other than that it was a successful mission and a joyful uniting for this snare and the matching 13-incher.  Now all I need is a bass drum and a floor tom.  Yeah.....that's all I need around here is more drums.....
