ASSEMBLING THE WHITE PEARL

My most recent project has been bringing together pieces to form a kit I am calling "The White Pearl."  In an earlier post I detailed the acquisition and restoration of a couple of U.S. Mercury drums, a 12" tom and a snare, which are wrapped in this beautiful "White Marine Pearl" finish.  Since then I have added a 16" WMP Ludwig floor tom, and also tracked down a 20" WMP Slingerland bass drum to complete this grouping.  So things are slowly coming together.

Admittedly the "White Marine Pearl" wraps of these different brands do not match exactly, but I really don't care.  When the Slingerland bass drum arrives I'm sure it will vary slightly as well.  It doesn't bother me.  I'm am totally cool with how this set looks.  I am not troubled in the least.  Seriously, I am not at all concerned.

Maybe you have a problem with the color of these drums, because you're stinkin' racist against white marine pearl drums, or perhaps you think they all look alike which also proves you're a racist.  In any case, it's not my problem if you have a problem with how well my set matches up, because you're the racist and you're just jealous because I have cool drumsets to play with and you don't.

Anyway, I'll let you know when the bass drum is cleaned up and ready to go.  Unless you are some anti-military liberal who hates the Marines in which case you wouldn't care about my white marine pearl bass drum.  I suppose you'd like it better if it was black diamond pearl?
