The way I have this drum mounted enables it to "bounce" quite a bit, which enhances the jingle effect so that I can produce several noises at one time: a rolling drum sound, a steady tambourine jingle and whatever additional sounds I add in with my right stick (tamborim, snare, tom, cymbal, china-type, etc.). I also keep the bass drum going underneath it all to establish the beat.
(Note: The "tamborim" is that tiny little 6" frame drum that produces the very high-pitched accent notes.)
